Lesson 3 - Potions

Now it is time to brew potions. Potions are an important tool in the Wizard’s tool belt. Want a drink that gives you super strength? What about a potion that makes you taller for a day? If you are squirmy, maybe you shouldn’t think too hard about the ingredients in them. Toenails, fox ears, spidersilk and such – no worry – you can not really taste them.

Photo #1 A mysterious potion

Before you begin.
In your class, you need to figure out what potion effects you want. Write a list on the blackboard . Help each other get ideas. Soon you need to create the ingrediens lists for the effects – so make sure you get a lot of ideas written down.

Ideas:
Become taller
Get stronger
Change your haircolor
Remove body odour

One thing to notice.
A potion is something you DRINK! And by drinking it, you get the effect. It does something to your mind or body

Task 1

For your first task, you need some “Hands on learning.”

On the worksheet, you can see 8 ingredients for potions. You can not see what the ingredients do, so you have to try for yourself.

Use the phrases on the right to write your recipe.

“Take a pinch of snot and add it to the pot.”

When you have your recipe – write the name of it and its effect on the worksheet.

Ways to tell the story:
